Is Bluehost the best web hosting for beginners to start websites, blogs and eCommerce stores online? If you are a newbie online, then you might feel overwhelmed with so many providers to choose from. Which one should you use for your business online. This is very important question that you must answer.
I have created several websites over the years using different web hosting providers so I know what works. I decided to test out Bluehost web hosting for a year and will reveal today my thoughts. This way you will know is Bluehost the best web hosting for beginners or not. Read this review before buying their web hosting services! If you don’t, then you might regret it later!
Who Is Bluehost?
When it comes to web hosting services, you can’t go too far and not hear something about Bluehost. I mean that they are promoted all over the internet with many of their sister companies like Hostgator. Many people boasts that they are the best host to use online. They actually are an amazing provider for creating websites using WordPress and really ideal for beginner entrepreneurs online.
Since 2003, Bluehost which is based in Provo Utah has been providing millions of small business owners affordable web hosting solutions. They offers shared hosting, WordPress, Managed, WooCommerce, VPS, Dedicated hosting services and more.
Some even ask is Bluehost the best for WordPress? Of course! They have become so popular over the years in the web hosting industry that WordPress.org highly recommends them due to their strong WordPress performance. There are only 3 hosts that have made this list: Bluehost, Siteground and Dreamhost.
To date, they power well over 2,000,000 websites online and have clients globally supporting several languages. Their global reach is probably more than many of their competitors online and this is one thing of many that makes them ideal to use. Also, their web hosting is super cheap starting at only $2.95/month.
Is Bluehost The Best With Web Hosting Costs?
Now I mentioned earlier that Bluehost offers several different types of web hosting to cater to all tastes and budgets. Of all of these, the most affordable and most purchased are their shared web hosting plans. This chart below gives you an ideal of their packages. I will go over them briefly and then tell you which plan that I prefer along with reasons why. I also would like to help pick the right web hosting plan today for your personal needs.
As you can see below, there are 3 shared hosting plans listed: Basic, Plus and Choice Plus
Which one should you buy? Well, this will depend largely on your personal needs and how many websites and resources you need for your business. No worries, I will help you to decide on this.
The Basic hosting plan is ideal for newbies an will let you create just 1 website online. This is where I highly recommend you to start IF you have NEVER created a website online. Also, if you are trying to test the waters and not really sure what direction you want to take with your business, the Basic hosting plan is best. It’s only $2.95/month which is dirt cheap when compared to competitors online.
However, if you are looking to build more that 1 websites and will have several projects down the pipeline, then I highly recommend using either their Plus or Choice Plus hosting plans. Both will allow you to create unlimited websites, get up to $200 in FREE marketing credits for Google and Bing Ads. These are really great for marketing your website online and getting targeted visitors fast!
However, with Choice Plus you will receive CodeGuard and Domain Privacy Protection which will provide extra security for your websites online. These are really great features that I feel ever website should have with websites. CodeGuard to make sure your website information is backed up daily and Domain Privacy will block spam and unsolicited emails and phone calls.
Both Plus and Choice Plus have introductory prices of $5.95/month. The only difference are their renewal prices after your web hosting term ends.
Which Bluehost web hosting plan do I recommend? I personally recommend using the Plus hosting being that it allows me to build unlimited websites online and comes with the additional tools and resources.
No matter which web hosting plan that you select today, you will get a FREE domain name with Bluehost. This is another savings for you online.
This step-by-step tutorial will show you how to easily create a website using WordPress.

Is Bluehost The Best With Customer Support?
I have always felt that having great customer support is super important to conducting business. During my time hosting my sites with Bluehost, I have never had any issues at all with customer support. In fact, I feel that Bluehost has some very professional and knowledgeable representatives that are really quick at responding.
Bluehost does offer 24/7 phone, email and chat support in the event you need or would like to contact one of their reps with questions.
Is Bluehost The Best With Uptime Performance?
What is uptime performance? The uptime of a web hosting provider tells you basically how reliable their servers. Being that your website is hosting on servers, these will deliver your content when people search for your brand online.
For example, this blog is all about helping entrepreneurs to create websites online for their businesses. Today you wanted to know is Bluehost the best web hosting provider and this led you to my blog.
Being that my blog has AMAZING uptime performance you are still are here reading this Bluehost review. Uptime performance is extremely importance because it really determines who much exposure your will get online. Also, if your website is up, then it means that you will make money. However, if your website is down and not available when people search, then this means that you will lose money online.
Bluehost maintains about 99.98% or better uptime performance which is excellent and means that they have really stable servers. This is the type of reliability that your website needs online that your visitors can find your business just like you found this blog post today.
Is Bluehost The Best With Money Back Guarantees?
The answer is NO. Although Bluehost web hosting is an amazing provider that is super affordable for beginners, they don’t have the longest money back guarantee. They offer a 30 day refund policy which is quite standard in the web hosting industry. Others like Namecheap and Siteground also give 30 days. This is not bad at all, however there are some that actually extend longer than Bluehost.
However, A2Hosting which is known for their turbo servers offers an ANYTIME money back guarantee.
So Bluehost is an awesome host, but I wanted to share with you how they compare with some of their competitors in this area.
So although I love using Bluehost and millions of other people use them also, they do have a lot of competitors. Although Bluehost is the best for WordPress, there are 2 other alternatives recommended by WordPress.org for creating sites.
Dreamhost – Official Website www.dreamhost.com
They have been around since 1997 and specialize primarily in premium WordPress hosting services. For beginners though, Dreamhost does have some really nice packages that I wanted to share with you today that I love. Shared Starter & Shared Unlimited.
The Starter hosing plan will let you create 1 website online for only $2.59/month. It will give you a FREE SSL certificates, Fast SSD storage and a FREE domain with your account. However, if you want something comparable to the Bluehost Plus hosting, then Dreamhost Shared Unlimited is best. In all actuality, it is a better value for your buck than the Bluehost Plus hosting because it only costs $3.95/month versus $5.95/month. So you save $2/month with Dreamhost.
Also you should that versus only 30 days with Bluehost web hosting, Dreamhost will give a full 97 days to use their web hosting. So if you are looking to create unlimited number of websites online, then the Dreamhost Shared Unlimited is the best plan for your business needs. The only downer about them is that they only have email & chat support. However, I must say that Dreamhost customer support is excellent with 4.8 out 5 stars on Trustpilot.
Siteground – Official Website www.siteground.com
Siteground is the other Bluehost alternative that I mentioned in the beginning of this review that also comes recommended by WordPress.org. They have 3 web hosting plans that you can choose from: StartUp, GrowBig, and Gogeek.
Siteground across the board has fast page loads and better customer support than Bluehost to be honest. However, they are a more expensive Bluehost alternative to use starting at $6.99/month for Startup for beginners versus only $2.95/month with Bluehost.
The GrowBig which allows you to create unlimited websites online is $9.99/month versus Bluehost Plus hosting at only $5.95/month. Also, the GoGeek plan which is ideally for developers and people with higher volumes of web traffic is $14.99/month. It supports up to 100,000 visitors per month, but only gives you 40 GB web space in comparison to Bluehost Basic plan that gives you 50 GB for only $2.95/month!
Just like Bluehost, Siteground offers a 30 day money back guarantee on their web hosting to clients.

Is Bluehost the best? As you could see here in this quick Bluehost review that they are amazing web hosting for beginners to start websites online. They have been around for a very long time and have all of the tools and resources that you will need.
Yes there are many alternatives to Bluehost that you probably could try, but why waste your time and money?
Remember that with their shared hosting you can select from the Basic, Plus and Choice Plus hosting plans. Although I personally prefer their Plus hosting and feel it best value for scaling, perhaps the Basic plan is all you need. Even with the Basic plan that lets you create 1 website, again they actually give you 50 GB SSD storage. On average, this is roughly about 5 times more storage that Bluehost gives you versus their competitors. Also, they have great 24/7 customer support and WordPress performance.
However, if costs are absolutely more important to you and you want to save a few pennies, then perhaps you should create your website for $2.59/month today using Dreamhost web hosting.
What do you really think? Is Bluehost the best or one of their competitors mentioned above in this Bluehost review? It’s your time to shine. Let me know your thoughts below in the comments area.
